1.
There's a golden moment in each day that passes.
2.
There were some things I was too scared to say.
3.
One day old today no bills yet to pay still yet to use my dressing gown still yet to find my way around the town cos i'm one day old today not much yet to say still yet to begin the investigating answering the phone in a questioning tone never yet danced in my room dont yet know if i'd like a fork or a spoon but that's all coming soon never yet reached the cusp the cusp of giving up i have never yet come home i've never felt the need to sort my life out never questioned why we grow up and never questioned why full stop
4.
Snowmilk 04:41
Find your place, fill your space. I'm working hard, and hardly working. We sat on the floor, drinking wine. I lay in bed, trying to think of reasons why. Snowmilk, déja vus.
5.
Rainbowz 04:20
The opportunity knocked but i wasn't in, thoughtless impatience, affinity. Weird appeared, the dress was so big I was like standing in a boxing ring... That night was a half-sleep, drowning in discord, but my fate was sealed when I stepped on the springboard. Well I was a student, but now I'm just a childish adult. Don't freak out before the panel of gods, crying "I don't know what I am but I know what I'm not!". My mind remains unchanged I just wanna live in a peaceful house- maybe I'm insensitive to the fact that he's insensitive to the fact that I am sensitive. Rainbowz- never too old to open. In this moment I am without problems, walking is good for thinking outwards and talking inwards. I am immune to outrage, I am immune to these powers! Except projectile puking of rainbows and flowers... But the first of May- there I was on that day- frowning on a bus with all my first world problems; pretentious, technoless, too much abstraction and not enough pun, all in, believe me, but all out of fun, and feeling too down to go missioning around or cycle like a psycho through the shark-infested town. Rainbowz- never too old to open. As i sat there in the serving spoon, gaze up at the new moon with the last drops of the monsoon on my eyes, the crack appears through the roof of the cocoon, an outburst of colours, like a sparkley cartoon. All roses and mental cleanliness quand vous êtes en mode prend soin de soi. Quand vous êtes en mode prend soin de soi- land on your feet, hard core, soft heart.
6.
They knocked down the castle, for a better view of the sky. Woodlands in her eye. Neatly and discretely they knocked down the castle, with no explanation, no explanation. No fences and no borders, no defence and no closed doors, no fences and no borders, no defence and no closed doors, no defense and no closed doors. Better view of the sky, woodlands in her eye.
7.
My approach is all wrong, but it's also alright. Subject of uncontrollable forces, the inbetween stages of chaos, the fear of what might get in the way, my life, my rain, my soul. Ask yourself, and maybe yourself will tell you, what advice would you give a friend? Hold it in a still frame. Take it in, take it out.
8.
April come back to me, everyone just becomes like everyone else. Little girls are magpies with magic in their eyes, but everything just becomes like everything else. Silly bag- instant dissatisfaction, how do I rate you? I rate you irate. Inseperable and insufferable, truly, madly, lovely. Faceless, nameless, shapeless, shameless and aimless, just tryina get famous, but everyone just becomes like everyone else. Internal sunshine of yours next to mine, wintery surge of sad goodbyes makes everything else lose it's meaning- cos the world's stil churning. What a small place to be.

From a solo, songwriting sensibility, Elsa Hewitt builds something bigger: combining ambient, textural haze with meditative sub-bass, it’s a debut record that bridges musical worlds.
The first of a three-album trilogy to be released this year, Cameras From Mars is a hazy, soft-spoken patchwork of luminous musical explorations. Created in the midst of a nostalgic, in-between period after university, it follows a varied, many-faceted musical journey: from learning guitar and honing melodical and rhythmical spoken word, she’s grown to embrace found sounds, UK dance undercurrents and the endless modulations of an old, beaten up synthesiser.
Hailing from Brighton and moving to Leeds, her musical development has followed her move across the UK. Finding a like-minded community in the Northern city, she’s been supported by its independent, online KMAH Radio station, along with Bambooman and his Health imprint. Selected recently to be part of Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers talent development programme, too, her connections go beyond her current base: she’s won the PRSF Lynsey de Paul Prize, is affiliated with York’s Nez Perce collective of musicians and beatmakers, and joined the likes of Lindstrøm and FaltyDL in remixing Femme’s 2016 album Debutante.

Exploring themes of alienation, ephemerality and escape, Cameras From Mars reflects a many-sided upbringing. From personal, intimate songwriting to shuffling, 2-step rhythms, Hewitt finds an absorbing, genre-blurring common ground to accommodate those different ideas. It’s an accomplished, engaging debut far greater than the sum of its parts.
