1.
There are people in the street that I'll probably never meet And I might not even be here if I never changed And I wouldn't know I would never have known I wouldn't know If I never had known you You could be somewhere else I could be somewhere else

Novemberz 03:33
Their absence makes me sad sometimes in late November's embers Dreams take me to places that are far and yet familiar And I drift in its tides and wake up on a different shore Where my skeleton feels heavier Where no matter what my conscience tells me I am transfixed on the sky Cos the sun on my face smothers and softens its flickering trace The sun on my face smothers and softens its flickering trace
4.
The notion of sin creeping back in The streets are quiet except for the wind Wind, rain and sirens My mind is hearing silence Today I feel darkness steeped in the mist Unsung melodies and unchained memories Intangible beauty reaching its wings down to meet me What is the future without these? Woke up different to yesterday Woke up different Twenty Seven

Become Real 03:06
It's already left but you can still see it Time getting cut short Killing one bird with two stones That I can hardly lift Sometimes you just have to say yes to yourself and no-one else Your subconscious knows more than you think Whadda we want? Change To land in our laps Like metal confetti You could buy it Or you could just remember it He was lik hi I was like hi I'm in tune with the moon Not zigzagging you like Steps upon seabeds Still the same soul but the body is old Who's the differentiator here? Too much baggage embedded in the whole concept When everything is connected by mess I can't be serious all the time Sometimes you just have to say it for it to be true Most of what I imagine will probably actually happen Sometimes you just have to say it for it to become real

Comfort Zone 04:24
I am acting out emotions like a puppet Simultaneously needing to remain still On a park bench in the past watching all the lost wonder Closenesses unknown carving through the wilderness A pang within my heart for the lost innocence Playing sports in space in your own comfort zone Nothing bothers you Nothing to think too much about Watching a plane fly Watching a car drive The first time I've been ill since I've been living here Like a weird throwback to the last time Like christmas last year When i didn't live with you I refeel the sadness of the past
10.
Sink Or Swim 04:10
That cat is a history of mystery Sequinned sequels now I can only resample The loss of a muse leaves an ageing bruise and shining memories that warp from years of brain abuse Soaking it up with a payslip and my memory gland began to expand and outgrew emotions I don't quite understand Just another opportunity to be negative Request repressed That soul is so old General situation: In a light vessel, slightly cold, light drizzle But in my mind I'm in a photo with you where we dangle our legs in the marvellous blue Marvellous blue But in my mind I'm in a photo with you If I survive this I'll probably do it again If I survive this I'll probably do it again Eyes opening Do I sink or swim?
11.
Glow Home 04:06
Wasted minutes feeling wrong Wishing I was someone useful These notions are not important When there's particles of you All over my face In epic proportions Like glitter or sunshine or rain To dust off all the doubt from my brain Little person hiding in the wings Always still deciding things Gullible traveller in the corner of my tiny mind Somewhere else again I will find I don't like to be the one who leaves I don't want to hurt any of you So I don't like to be the one who leaves I don't want to do you no harm Home is where I'm from For you I am steady and calm Choose a way to be for the people in your life Choose a way to see things Before your eyes Do no harm Home is where I'm from For you I am steady and calm

Part 2: elsahewitt.bandcamp.com/album/dum-spiro-spero-4

Whilst being filled with Hewitt’s trademark styling and aesthetic, Peng Variations finds a new balance between song-writing and electronic composition; a synthesis of the first two parts in her 2017 trilogy. Amongst the myriad of found sounds to be heard in this record, cuts from a single event – a play written by four women and their one performance of it in the Yorkshire dales – appear numerous times, both influencing and illustrating the album’s theme. The third part became loosely based around the weird notion of growing up, taking on responsibilities, whilst also learning to accept a lack of control.
